Our Adventure Rangers recently earned their "Primitive Shelter" merit badges. They will have an opportunity to apply the skills learned in class when we camp at Commander Daniel's house on Friday, November 14. We will have lashing/rope craft competitions and activities on Saturday along with cooking and campsite clean up.
Adventure Rangers participating in this camp out should meet at the church by 4:00 pm c.s.t. We will travel to Commander Daniel's house from there.
Please email commandereric@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Commander Eric

Pinewood Derby Cars
The Bridge will be holding it's first NASCAR day on August 24, 2008. Royal Rangers will be there selling peanuts and possibly racing pinewood derby cars. If you have a kid in Discovery or Adventure Rangers, please send $5.00 by Wednesday July 23 to purchase a pinewood derby kit. We will be building these cars during class over the next few weeks and will have them on display at NASCAR day. We are planning to set up a pinewood track where, for a small entry fee, people can race the cars. All funds raised will help support Royal Rangers outpost 86 at The Bridge Church.
We took these pics of the pinewood derby design phase during class last Wednesday. I had some design ideas available, but most chose to do an original design. Of course, there was a little playing mixed in.

Royal Rangers Celebrate America!
For the past few years The Bridge Church has held "Celebrate America", which is a celebration of the founding of our country, on the last Sunday before July 4th. We have free food, activities, musical entertainment, and a fireworks display that's second to none in the area.
This year our Royal Rangers group set up a tent and sold boiled peanuts to raise funds to support our classes. We had no idea what we were getting into. We sold out of cooked peanuts, and people were buying "almost done" peanuts out of the second batch. This was a great fund raiser, but next time we will be better prepared. Thanks to everyone who supported Royal Rangers and helped make this celebration a success. We look forward to many more years of celebrating America!
